GCSE Results 2012-2013

Exam Results Chart

This year saw Shireland’s Year 11 students increase results across the board.

There was a rise, to 59%, of the number of students obtaining the government’s key target of 5A*-C including English and Mathematics. This is despite the number of students nationally achieving this declining.

Students Mathematics and English results rose sharply with results in Mathematics now above the national average. Our value added score, which states how much progress our students make is likely to put Shireland in the top 10% nationally.

All our students are put on paths to achieve their potential and no students left Shireland without qualifications. 87% of our students leave with the equivalent of 5GCSEs at C grades.

Students also gained a number of vocational qualifications in Construction, Hair and Beauty and Motor Vehicle Engineering, providing them with the essential skills to take into a college education and from there a career.
