Shireland Learning is a school-based company that has developed a Learning Platform (a powerful web-based framework) over the last four years, tailored to the education system. It derives its success and recognition from being developed within a school that has over a decade of nationally acknowledged e-learning development.
It is based on the Microsoft Learning Gateway which brings together a wide range of Microsoft and third party products into one integrated solution that at its centre, enables communication, collaboration, storing and sharing of information in a variety of ways. This provides a highly effective managed learning environment. Our solution is as technologically transparent and as intuitive for staff to use as possible.
We have developed the core software from Microsoft with our own infrastructure, and we have then developed templates, resources, utilities and applications which support teaching, learning, leadership and management. Together these drive forward school improvement and therefore help to raise standards. This bespoke solution enables schools to determine their own process and integration path, rather than have them dictated by an ICT-based packages company bias.
Our educational setting and involvement with both the Government and Microsoft, pushes our vision to stay at the forefront of innovation using Learning Platforms.
We have a unique content development team at Shireland Learning that takes curriculum-based storyboards produced by school staff and turns them into top quality, individually deliverable resources, providing genuinely practical examples of personalized learning.
Our educational team also provides consultancy and training for school practitioners at all levels, including senior leadership, middle leadership, class teachers and technical staff.
Our Learning Gateway can provide a framework through which schools can manage, deliver and track interactions between members of the learning community, such as assessments and pastoral interventions. We are seeing significant benefits both in our Academies and in the increasing number of our hosted schools in terms of workload reduction, workforce reforms, delivery design and most importantly standards of achievement.
We feel that our Learning Gateway provides a unique framework on which to build school interventions and support, and we look forward to presenting it to you in further detail.
