Sir Mark GrundyShireland Learning Ltd is the commercial arm of The Collegiate Academy Trust which runs two schools in Sandwell, Shireland Collegiate Academy and the George Salter Collegiate Academy. Both schools are run by Sir Mark Grundy who is widely recognised as one of the leading proponents of Learning Gateways. Sir Mark has been recognised for his pioneering use of gateways by the BECTA, SSAT and Microsoft amongst others. He has achieved spectacular results at improving school performance. Since George Salter was taken over by Shireland five years ago the proportion of students achieving five or more GCSE’s at grades A* - C has improved from 14% to 85%. Sir Mark and the Senior Management Team attribute a large proportion of this improvement to the way that the Learning Gateway has been implemented at the school.

As a result of the spectacular success we have achieved in our own schools, we have been asked to implement similar solutions for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, the Specialist Schools Academy Trust and several other institutions including a pilot for the Kingdom of Abu Dhabi.

Our solution relies on the expertise we have developed both in our own schools and the 130 other schools that have now adopted our approach.
